Nulux Energy designs and manufactures custom switchboards to order from our facilities in Albion Park Rail and Kiama, NSW. From single distribution boards to large main switchboards for commercial and industrial sites, every board is engineered in-house, built by qualified tradespeople and tested to Australian standards before it leaves our workshop. When an off-the-shelf board won't fit the site, the load or the budget, we build one that does. With more than 15 years manufacturing electrical switchboards across NSW, we've delivered boards for mines, steelworks, commercial buildings, industrial plants, water and infrastructure projects, and building-services contractors who need a reliable local manufacturer rather than an overseas lead time. What we manufacture: - Main switchboards (MSB) — the central distribution point for a site, built to the required current rating, fault level and form of separation. - Distribution boards (DB) — sub-boards for floors, zones or plant rooms, configured for your circuit schedule. - Metering panels — utility and check-metering panels, including provisions for tenant sub-metering and energy monitoring. - Sub-mains and feeder boards — engineered to coordinate with your main switchboard and protective devices. Every board is made to order. We work from your single-line diagram and load schedule — or help you develop one — so the finished switchboard matches the installation exactly. Capabilities and specifications: We manufacture switchboards across a wide range of configurations to suit the application: - Current ratings from small distribution boards up to high-current main switchboards. - Forms of separation (Form 1 through Form 4) to meet your segregation and maintenance requirements. - Enclosure options including floor-standing cubicles, wall-mounted boards and weatherproof enclosures, with IP ratings selected for the environment. - Busbar systems sized and braced for the required fault level and short-circuit rating. - Protective devices and metering from the major brands, specified to your design or recommended by our engineers. If you have a specification, we build to it. If you don't, our engineering team will help you arrive at the right design, ratings and componentry for the job. Built to AS/NZS 61439: All Nulux switchboards are designed and manufactured to AS/NZS 61439, the current Australian standard for low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies. Building to type-tested designs gives you confidence that the assembly will perform as specified under fault conditions — not just that the individual components are compliant. Every board is inspected and tested before dispatch, and we supply the documentation your electrical contractor and certifier need to sign off the installation, including test records and as-built drawings. Our manufacturing process: We keep the whole process under one roof, which means tighter quality control and shorter lead times: 1. Enquiry and design — we review your single-line diagram, load schedule and site requirements, and confirm ratings, form and componentry. 2. Engineering and approval — we produce manufacturing drawings for your sign-off before any steel is cut. 3. Manufacture — fabrication, busbar work, wiring and assembly by our in-house team. 4. Testing — inspection and testing to AS/NZS 61439 before dispatch. 5. Delivery — the completed board delivered to site, with documentation, ready for installation.
